How Princess Tutu Ended (right?) by Zubious How Princess Tutu Ended (right?) by Zubious
Or like, how it should've. Four-way polyamory full of love and support and cuddly affection and ballet dancing, amiright? :D

I do not own Princess Tutu, or any of the characters from it.

Should have, indeed. But I still love this anime anyways. Princess Tutu was the anime that brought me back into the anime fandom, so I will always cherish this show no matter what.

Princess Tutu is literally my favorite anime, which is kind of weird considering my second favorite is Berserk and I tend way more toward stuff like that (and shonen tournament potato chip stuff). Undeniably, this show is a classic.

It's my second favorite (after Madoka Magica), but it truly is a classic. I always tell people not to be fooled by the title, seeing as the anime gets so much darker as it progresses. Honestly, with my anime favorites, it's like the equivalent of a heartbeat monitor in terms of how the percentage of darkness fluctuate from show to show.

It's a shame that when people first start with Princess Tutu, they see talking animals doing ballet and go "oh no ok ew" or something. At least some of the people I've shown it to, anyway. I think it's the kind of thing that would appeal to people who like classic Disney movies--it's dark without being overbearing, playful without being stupid, and utterly timeless.

Yeah. It's like a Hans Christen Andersen fairy tale. It may have a bittersweet ending, and a few dark and scary moments, but overall, it is a wonderful story full of fear, love, and wonder. And those are the best kind of stories :)
